National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day (NYHAAD)

WHAT IS NYHAAD?

National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day (NYHAAD) is a day to educate the public about the impact of HIV and AIDS on young people as well as highlight the amazing work young people are doing across the country to fight the epidemic.

What Do We Need?

While NYHAAD is celebrated across the country every year on April 10. However, to truly reach an AIDS-free generation, government and communities need to continue to work on creating awareness, provide relevant programs/initiatives and advocate young generation to fight the HIV and AIDS epidemic.

HIV & AIDS FAQ

HIV is a virus which causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). AIDS weakens the body’s immune system (your defense against infections) so that it loses the ability to fight off infection and illnesses.
